On-Call Cybersecurity Instructor (Part-Time, Remote, Open to Global Candidates)

We are currently expanding our instructor network and seeking experienced On-Call Cybersecurity Instructors to join our team. This is a flexible, remote opportunity for passionate professionals who want to teach and mentor students while shaping the next generation of cybersecurity experts.

Position Overview:

As an On-Call Cybersecurity Instructor, you will provide expert instruction in various areas of cybersecurity, including but not limited to:

  • Cybersecurity Fundamentals

  • Network Security

  • Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing

  • Cloud Security

  • Mobile and Application Security

  • Digital Forensics and Incident Response

  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)

  • Advanced Threat Intelligence

You will deliver engaging online lessons, guide hands-on labs, and mentor students as they work through real-world cybersecurity scenarios. This role offers flexibility in scheduling, with instructors working between 1-5 hours per week. Instructors will be compensated on an hourly basis for teaching, lab facilitation, and student support.

Note: There is no requirement to work on weekends or holidays, and instructors will operate during their own official working hours based on their location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, interactive online lessons that align with the program’s curriculum.

  • Guide students through practical, hands-on labs and exercises, simulating real-world scenarios.

  • Provide timely feedback and support via live sessions, discussion boards, and email.

  • Ensure course materials are up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.

  • Be available for on-call teaching assignments during agreed-upon hours.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in areas such as network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cloud security, and more.

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISM, CCSP, OSCP, or similar.

  • Previous teaching or training experience (preferred), especially in an online environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex cybersecurity concepts for students.

  • Availability to teach students globally, working within your own time zone during official working hours.

Compensation:

  • For U.S.-based instructors:

    • Hourly Rate: $30 to $80 USD, based on experience and course assignments.

  • For instructors outside the U.S.:

    • The hourly rate will be calculated based on local market rates and industry standards in the country of residence.

  • Compensation includes payment for live teaching hours, lab facilitation, and student feedback.

Legal and Working Terms:

  • Instructors will be hired as independent contractors, and the position will be governed by the employment laws of California, USA for U.S.-based instructors.

  • All hours worked will be compliant with California state law and independent contractor regulations for U.S.-based contractors.

  • For instructors outside the U.S., local labor and tax laws of their respective countries will apply.

  • Instructors are responsible for managing their own taxes and benefits in accordance with their local regulations.
